Top officer hurt on opening eve

LUCKNOW:High-profile IAS officer Navneet Sehgal was critically injured in a head-on collision near Hasanganj in Unnao on the yet-to-be inaugurated Agra-Lucknow Expressway on Friday.

High-profile IAS officer Navneet Sehgal was critically injured in a head-on collision near Hasanganj in Unnao on the yet-to-be inaugurated Agra-Lucknow Expressway on Friday.

He suffered a head injury and fractured a thigh. Five others were also injured.

Sehgal was returning after reviewing the test practice of Indian Air Force aircraft landing on the highway. He is also CEO of the UP Expressways Industrial Development Authority, which constructed the highway in record 22 months.

It would be inaugurated on November 21. — TNS
