Three suspected militants of Jammu and Kashmir were arrested from Ahmedabad-Jammu-Twai train at Merta Road station in Rajasthan’s Nagaur district by a joint team of RPF and SOG-ATS late on Thursday night.

The accused were handed over to J&K police after interrogation by Rajasthan SOG-ATS today.

Hailing from Kulgam, Umar Hussain and Bashid, both 19, and Soyal, 21, were returning to Jammu by the train from Ahmedabad after selling apples when the Railway Protection Force of Merta Road chased them with officials of ATS-SOG as the train stopped at 10.40 pm on a tip-off from the counter state a day ago, a senior cop of RPF told The Tribune.

Soyal was wanted in a number of crime cases under Section of 302 of the IPC (case 106/2017 of J&K) and unlawful activities act, while Umar was allegedly involved in stone-pelting incidents, the cop said.

No case was registered with Merta Road’s RPF station as the J&K cops came and Rajasthan ATS-SOG handed them over.
