Three of family killed in road accident near Bengaluru

BENGALURU: Three members of a family, including two minor children, were killed when the car in which they were travelling overturned and fell into a lake at Managanahalli, about 30 km from here, police said.

Three members of a family, including two minor children, were killed when the car in which they were travelling overturned and fell into a lake at Managanahalli, about 30 km from here, police said.

According to police, Chidananda (24) was on the way to Siddaiyanadoddi village in Ramanagara district on Wednesday in his car with his two nephews aged 12 and six, and a four-year-old niece, to celebrate Deepavali with relatives when the mishap occurred.

At Managanahalli, he lost control of the vehicle as a result of which it overturned and fell into the lake, police said, adding that Chidananda, the six-year-old boy and his niece were killed on the spot.

The 12-year-old boy was rescued by passersby, who also helped fish out the bodies of the three victims, they added. PTI
