Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar on Friday said the central government would identify the area of concern and take steps with regard to the leaked data of the Scorpene Submarine.

Parrikar said: “It is not a big worry but there are a few pockets of concern, assuming we are looking at the worst case scenario”.

Leak of technical details of the six under-construction submarines were first reported by The Australian, a Sydney-based newspaper.

India has asked France and DCNS, the submarine maker, to reply. ”We are still awaiting a formal reply,” Parrikar said.

The details of the weapons’ package had not been leaked as it was not with DCNS.

The Navy has said that the leak of data did not compromise security.
