With Aqis (Al-Qaida in Indian Subcontinent) chief Asim Umar (India-born) recently issuing an audio clip inciting his followers to attack senior Indian civil servants, an alert has been issued by security agencies suggesting government establishments in and around NCR to step up vigil on their campuses.

Sources said intelligence inputs indicated “probable terror strike” in and around National Capital Region (NCR), particularly against senior officials and headquarters of central paramilitary forces. “All of them have been asked to remain alert and step up vigil on their campuses and ensure personal safety of senior officers,” an IB official said.
