Temple introduces e-hundi for offerings

Thiruvananthapuram: To tide over cash crunch in the wake of demonetisation, the Lord Ayyappa temple at Sabarimala has introduced ‘e-hundi’ for electronic transfer of offerings. There was no upper limit on offerings but a devotee can even offer Re 1 with a credit card, an official said. New Delhi: A Delhi court has issued a fresh non-bailable warrant against self-proclaimed godman Swami Omji Maharaj, a contestant in reality show ‘Bigg Boss’, in connection with a theft case lodged by his brother, saying despite repeated calls he failed to turn up in the court. The court directed Omji to appear on December 3 and also forfeited his bail bond and surety bond. — pti
