Smriti holds ‘Didi aur sarkar’ chaupal in UP

AMETHI: Union Minister Smriti Irani, who is on a two-day visit to her parliamentary constituency Amethi, held a chaupal, “Didi aur sarkar aapke dwar” (government at your door service), to discuss local issues at Cheda village here today.

Union Minister Smriti Irani, who is on a two-day visit to her parliamentary constituency Amethi, held a chaupal, “Didi aur sarkar aapke dwar” (government at your door service), to discuss local issues at Cheda village here today. Irani, who reached Amethi today, oversaw arrangements at CRPF camp in Trisundi village where a recruitment drive will be held. She also reviewed a number of developmental projects in her constituency. 

Also, the minister called for a complete ban on single-use plastic. Talking to shopkeepers in Gauriganj, Irani asked them not to use plastic for any purpose. She gave similar advice to others. 

She inspected the beautification work being done on Sagra lake and also held a review meeting with the railway department on the progress of the Salon-Unchahar rail line.

On Thursday, the minister will start her programme from Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya where she will inaugurate a kitchen garden. She will hold the chaupal in Cheda village later. 

She will also unveil Swami Vivekananda statue at Rajiv Gandhi Petroleum Sansthan before leaving for Delhi. Earlier, the Union Minister inaugurated a Wi-Fi facility at the Amethi Railway Station and directed officials to speed up pending development works on the premises.
