The Aam Aadmi Party announced its three Rajya Sabha candidates from Delhi—including party leader Sanjay Singh—on Wednesday.

Making the announcement, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said: "Sanjay Singh, ND Gupta and Sushil Gupta are the final names for the three Rajya Sabha seats from Delhi."

Sushil Gupta is a businessman and ND Gupta is a chartered accountant.

Meanwhile, AAP leader Kumar Vishwas was miffed at being snubbed.

Addressing the press after AAP's ammouncement, Vishwas—whose verbal wars with AAP’s leadership has made headlines before—called the party’s decision to ignore him a “punishment”.

“This is my punishment for being honest. Arvindji had smilingly told me once: ‘We will kill you, but won't let you be martyred’. I congratulate him and humbly accept this martyrdom,” Vishwas said.

In a statement addressed to AAP’s convenor Arvind Kejriwal, he said: “I know nothing happens in the party without your approval. It is difficult to remain alive in the party without agreeing with you. I am part of the party and therefore appeal to you—now that you have martyred me, do not touch this dead body.” — Agencies
