The RSS is hopeful that the Supreme Court will give an early verdict to pave the way for the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya amid a renewed focus on the issue in the run-up to the UP polls.

Amid the prevailing tension along the borders, the BJP's ideological fountainhead also favours a ban on Pakistani artistes. But it feels that issues such as prohibiting import of Chinese products should be left to society.

Briefing the media on the RSS meeting, Delhi state general secretary Bharat Bhushan said, “The Ram Temple is central to our faith and a temple should come up at the Ram Janmabhoomi site, which has been made clear by the Allahabad High Court verdict. It is a matter of few days, months or years.”

“People of the country want a grand temple at Ayodhya. The matter is before the Supreme Court and we expect that the court gives an early verdict. We expect this issue should be resolved early,” Bhushan said. On demand by some for day-to-day hearing, he said, “It has nothing to do with the UP elections.”

Regarding the ban on Pakistani artistes, the RSS leader said though art is a universal subject, “artistes coming here and not condemning terror and criticising those who raised the issue should be banned”.

Asked if Chinese products should be banned, he said, “Some things are best left to society and the issue of Chinese products should also be decided by the society and not by us.”
