Rajasthan BJP MLA Kalyan Singh Choudhary dies of cancer

JAIPUR: Kalyan Singh Choudhary, the BJP MLA from Nathdwara, died of cancer at an Udaipur hospital in the wee hours of Wednesday. He was 55.

Kalyan Singh Choudhary, the BJP MLA from Nathdwara, died of cancer at an Udaipur hospital in the wee hours of Wednesday. 

He was 55.

The cremation will take place at his native village Dagwada on Wednesday afternoon, BJP spokesman Anand Sharma said.

Choudhary had defeated Congress stalwart CP Joshi by a single vote in the 2008 assembly polls. 

Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and BJP state president Ashok Parnami condoled the death saying it was a great loss to the party and his constituency.

The strength in the 200-member House has been reduced to 199, with the BJP left with 158 MLAs.
