Rahul will be back soon: Sonia

Congress president Sonia Gandhi today assured the people of Amethi that Congress vice president and Lok Sabha MP Rahul Gandhi would soon visit Amethi.

During the second half of her day-long visit to the family bastion of Rae Bareli and Amethi, Sonia visited Amethi where she took stock of the crop damage and also offered condolences to the families of those killed in last week’s train derailment at Bachrawan in her constituency of Rae Bareli.

On Rahul’s disappearance, she said Rahul and Priyanka “bahut jald dikhenge (would be seen very soon) in Amethi and Rae Bareli.

Arriving at the Fursatganj airstrip, the Congress president drove straight to Pachwar village in her constituency of Rae Bareli. On the way, she halted at several points interacting with farmers, inspecting the damaged crops and trying to understand the scale of crop loss due to the recent unseasonal rains and hailstorm.

“We are very stressed and trying to find a solution. I will definitely take up the issue with the government,” assured Gandhi after interacting with the locals.

In Amethi, she met farmers and the family members of the train accident victims.
