The Congress and the BJP have been engaged in a verbal duel since Friday morning, both out to hammer their respective narratives.

While the Congress led by party president Rahul Gandhi targetted BJP chief Amit Shah over new RTI revelations that a cooperative bank he headed converted old cash into new in record time during the note ban era, the BJP attacked Congress leaders for their “anti-India stands” vis-a-vis Kashmir.

Gandhi went an extra mile in his pursuit when he floated a Twitter hashtag #ShahZyadaKhaGaya posting the following supporting message: “Congratulations Amit Shah ji, Director, Ahmedabad Dist. Cooperative Bank, on your bank winning 1st prize in the conversion of old notes to new race. 750 Cr in 5 days! Millions of Indians whose lives were destroyed by Demonetisation, salute your achievement. #ShahZyadaKhaGaya.”

The message came two hours after BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad launched a blistering attack on Congress leader Saifuddin Soz for advocating azadi in Jammu and Kashmir and another party veteran Ghulam Nabi Azad batting for cautious armed forces operations in J&K’s civilian areas.

Gandhi’s tweet also followed the blog by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley who spoke of how jehadis and separatists and Maoist insurgents supported by sections in civilian society were compromising human rights in India.

Earlier in the day, Congress media head Randeep Surjewala held an unscheduled press conference to target Shah for what the Congress calls a “demonetisation scam”.
