New Delhi, February 10

Congress general secretary for eastern Uttar Pradesh Priyanka Gandhi Vadra today urged the people of Uttar Pradesh to stand with her and build a new future and new kind of politics in the state.

In an audio message to the electorate of Lucknow, Priyanka today said she was coming to the city tomorrow to meet the people there and was carrying in her heart the hope of a new kind of inclusive politics in the state.

Priyanka and her colleague AICC general secretary for western UP Jyotiraditya Scindia will hold a road show in Lucknow tomorrow to announce their arrival on the political landscape of UP, where BSP and SP recently snubbed the Congress to form a unilateral alliance.

Priyanka and Scindia have their task cut out—bring BSP and SP to the negotiating table with the Congress; create a fertile ground for a solo Congress fight if a broad anti-BJP alliance does not work out.

Priyanka said in her audio message, “This is Priyanka Gandhi Vadra speaking. I am coming to Lucknow tomorrow to meet all of you. And I have hopes in my heart that we will together start a new kind of politics in the state, a kind of politics in which all of you will be stakeholders...my young friends, my sisters and the weakest people. In this politics, everyone’s voice will be heard. Come with me and let us build a new future, a new politics.”

The Congress was recently forced to spring a surprise in UP after the BSP and SP entering pact for Lok Sabha poll in the state leaving just two seats — Amethi and Rae Bareli for the Congress’ first family.
