President Pranab Mukherjee arrived in Palestine for a day’s visit on the second-leg of his six-day tour of West Asia on Monday.
The president flew in from Amman to Israel's Ben-Gurion airport in Tel Aviv and drove down to the check post of Ramallah, where he change to Palestinian vehicles to enter Palestinian Authority (PA) territory. He was received at the checkpoint by Palestinian Education Minister Sabri Saidan. In Palestine, he received the ceremonial welcome and later held talks with the Palestinian leadership.
