Assailing hike in prices of fuel and essential commodities under the BJP rule at Centre and in the state, the Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee on Tuesday held a protest in the state capital demanding a rollback.

Most of the protesters were on foot, some took to cycle-rickshaws or camel carts. State unit president Sachin Pilot rode a bullock cart from Youth Congress office to PCC headquarters.

“Before coming to power in Rajasthan and the Centre, the BJP had promised to bring inflation under control and give respite to common man. The saffron party had failed to keep its poll promises even as crude oil prices in international market have come down drastically,” Pilot said.

LPG prices have doubled in last three years of the Modi rule, while the Raje government had not stopped levy or taxes on fuel that was giving a hard time to people in the state, he added.
