Parlour owner arrested for ‘molesting’ Austrian tourist

JAIPUR: An Austrian tourist who had gone for acupressure massage on Monday alleged she was molested by the parlour’s owner at Udaipur’s Hanuman Ghat area.

An Austrian tourist who had gone for acupressure massage on Monday alleged she was molested by the parlour’s owner at Udaipur’s Hanuman Ghat area.

On a complaint filed by the tourist, the Ambamata police station has booked Rajendra Sharma, owner of Bhartiya Massage Centre, on the charge of outraging her modesty, Udaipur SP told The Tribune.

The police raided the parlour and arrested Sharma under Section 354 (molestation) of the Indian Penal Code. The victim’s statement has been recorded under Section 164 of the Criminal Procedure Code.

The incident took place on March 25. The woman, in her complaint, alleged that the accused on the pretext of massage touched her with ill intentions.

The woman is a research scholar and has been staying in the city for the past three months.
