Lahore, July 29

A Pakistani anti-terrorism court trying seven Mumbai terror attack accused, including LeT operations commander and mastermind Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi, adjourned hearing on Wednesday for the second consecutive time without proceedings.

"The Anti-Terrorism Court Islamabad judge adjourned the hearing without any proceeding as no witness was summoned for today. The judge summoned four witnesses for next Wednesday (August 5) hearing to record their statements," a court official said..

The hearing was held at Adiala Jail Rawalpindi.

No proceeding was held on the last hearing on July 23 as the judge was on leave.

Fifty-five-year-old Lakhvi has been released on bail since April 10 after the Lahore High Court set aside the government's order to detain him under the security act.

Six other accused — Abdul Wajid, Mazhar Iqbal, Hamad Amin Sadiq, Shahid Jameel Riaz, Jamil Ahmed and Younis Anjum — have been in Adiala Jail for nearly six years in connection with planning and executing the Mumbai attack in November 2008 that left 166 people dead. — PTI
