Our economy is more stable than others, asserts PM Modi

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said our economy is more stable than others as it has shown more resilience. He said the economy would grow five-fold by 2040.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said our economy is more stable than others as it has shown more resilience.

Modi, who was speaking at Petrotech-2016, 12th International Oil and Gas Conference and Exhibition here, said the economy would grow five-fold by 2040.

He said sustainable, reasonable priced energy is crucial for development, adding that the government aimed to provide piped natural gas connection to 10 million, and double pipeline network to 30,000 km in five years.

The Prime Minister said, “Our current account deficit has improved steadily and we will provide electricity to all by March 2018.” 

The PM told multinational companies, “India needs to improve on project management and execution; we invite you to come and make in India.”

He said, “India will consume more oil in 2040 than the whole of Europe; our motto is to replace red tape with red carpet.” PTI
