Top court rejects PC's pre-arrest bail request

Earlier, a Bench headed by Justice R Banumathi refused to give him pre-arrest bail in a money laundering case relating to the INX Media scam.

The Bench said anticipatory bail has to be given sparingly in economic offences.

"This is not a fit case for grant of anticipatory bail. Investigating agency has to be given enough freedom to probe. Grant of anticipatory bail at this stage will hamper the investigation," the top court said, adding that the accused may move regular bail before the appropriate court.
