Bhopal, May 20

Hours after the BJP in Madhya Pradesh asked the Congress government to prove its majority, Chief Minister Kamal Nath on Monday said he was prepared for a floor test.

Nath also claimed that he had proven majority of his coalition government “four times” in the last five months.

Leader of Opposition Gopal Bhargava said his party would ask Governor Anandiben Patel to convene a special session “to discuss important issues and test the government’s strength”.

He said the Congress, instead of debating issues in the House, was dumping papers at former CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s residence, claiming that loans of 21 lakh farmers had been waived.

The BJP demand comes a day after exit polls predicted a comfortable victory in the LS elections and maximum number of seats in MP. — PTI
