New Delhi, January 3

There was ruckus in the Lok Sabha on the caste clashes in Bhima-Koregaon in Maharashtra with the  Congress alleging  that the RSS was behind the violence. This was countered by the government and a verbal duel ensued, resulting in two adjournments.

The Congress, RJD, Samajwadi Party and CPI (M) and NCP staged a walkout when the House re-assembled after the first adjournment. Raising the issue during Zero Hour, Congress’Mallikarjun Kharge demanded a probe by a sitting Supreme Court judge and a statement by the PM on the matter.

Congress members trooped in the well of the House and raised slogans even as AICC president Rahul Gandhi remained seated. Union Parliamentary Affairs Ministers butted the charges, saying the Congress was in despair because of its electoral losses and hence “indulging in politics over the incident.” — TNS
