The office of Ravi Shankar, founder of the Art of Living, has claimed that their guru has been receiving death threats from the IS during his ongoing visit to Malaysia.

“Three threat letters (attached) were received. One was addressed to Gavin Weighthead, the general manager at Hotel Jen in Penang, Malaysia, second to Ambika Menon, the Director for the Art of Living, and the International Association for Human Values, Malaysia, and third letter to Senior Art of Living faculty Ms Ee Mei”, said a statement issued here today.

The Indian embassy and local authorities and the police in Malaysia have been informed, the statement said.

Copies of the “threat letters” were attached with the statement. The letters, which appear identical, have an English part where Ravi Shankar has been called a conman and accused of converting Muslims into Hinduism and warned against stepping into any Muslim country.

The letters also has something written in Arabic and pictures of a militant beheading a person. — TNS
