Insurgency situation has improved: Assam Governor

GUWAHATI: Assam Governor Jagdish Mukhi on Friday highlighted the improved insurgency situation in the state while stating that peace process is progressing in the right direction involving 13 militants groups under suspension of operation.

Assam Governor Jagdish Mukhi on Friday highlighted the improved insurgency situation in the state while stating that peace process is progressing in the right direction involving 13 militants groups under suspension of operation.

Addressing the people of Assam on Republic Day here, the Governor said that with the improved insurgency situation, the state government is now focused on facilitating all encompassing development in the state through implementation of various welfare schemes in different sectors, including heath, education, industry, agriculture, sports, social welfare, culture, sports, etc.

He said the Assam government was going to host its first-ever global investment summit titled ‘Advantage Assam’ on February 3 and 4 where top bracket industry houses from all over the country and some from abroad were expected to participate to take stock of the advantage and potential that are going to be highlighted in the summit by the state government. Celebrated names from industry sector of the country, including Ratan Tata and Mukesh Ambani, will grace the summit.
