Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia was attacked with ink outside Lt Governor Najeeb Jung's residence while he was speaking to the media in Delhi on Monday.

Sisodia had gone to meet Jung after returning  from his controversial trip to Finland where he had gone to study the educational framework.

"We are working on the improvements in health and education sectors, but the Opposition is working on ink only. Cheap politics by the BJP and the Congress," Sisodia told media after the attack.

The attacker, identified as Brajesh Shukla, and a resident of Karawal Nagar, said he threw ink on Sisodia to protest against the absence of the minister from Delhi, when the city was reeling under dengue and chikungunya epidemic.

Before being detained, Shukla said: “Sisodia had gone abroad at the expense of taxpayer's money, while people of Delhi are suffering.”
