A day after an eight-year-old girl, Beena, went missing from Mani Majra, the police safely recovered the child from Baltana in Zirakpur today. Beena went missing on Friday at 6 pm after which her parents launched a hunt. After failing to recover the girl, her family members approached the police. Later, a case of kidnapping was registered. Inspector Jasbir Singh, SHO, Mani Majra, said all police stations in the city and the neighbouring cities were put on alert. “We circulated the photograph of the girl in the neighbouring states after which the Zirakpur Police informed us about the child found roaming in Baltana,” the SHO said.

He said the girl lost the way and reached Baltana. She was handed over to the family. — TNS
