Mumbai, June 25

Rains continued to lash Mumbai for the third consecutive day today, slightly disrupting suburban train services, even as the Met Department predicted “heavy to very heavy rainfall” over the next two days in the Mumbai, Konkan and Goa region.

Police and fire officials said parts of Mumbai, Ratnagiri and the Konkan region saw flooding and damage to property caused by falling trees. However, no casualties have been reported so far.

Low-lying areas in Mumbai such as Hindmata Cinema and Lower Parel were flooded as heavy rain coincided with high tides, the police said.

Trains on Central and Western Railway lines were running a few minutes behind schedule. Railway officials said maintenance personnel were on standby to clear any blockages on tracks. The rain also caused delay in flights at the Mumbai airport today.
