HC extends Lalu’s bail by six weeks

RANCHI: The Ranchi High Court on Friday extended RJD leader Lalu Prasad’s provisional bail for another six weeks on medical grounds in fodder scam cases.

The Ranchi High Court on Friday extended RJD leader Lalu Prasad’s provisional bail for another six weeks on medical grounds in fodder scam cases. Prasad, whose provisional bail was extended till July 3 last Friday, would now remain on bail till August 17.

The bail was granted in the three fodder scam cases related to the fraudulent withdrawal of money from Chaibasa, Deogarh and Dumka treasuries of the Animal Husbandry Department in the 90s. “At present, Prasad is recuperating at a Mumbai hospital. He underwent a fistula surgery on Sunday, said Lalu’s aide Bhola Yadav. — OC
