Chennai, February 19

Tamil Nadu Governor C Vidyasagar Rao has sought a report from Assembly secretary AMP Jamaludeen on the unsavoury incidents witnessed in the House on Saturday when Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami won the trust vote. He has sought “a factual report,” on the proceedings — from the time the House assembled at 11 am on February 18 and till it was adjourned sine die at 3.27 pm, sources said.

The report will cite documentary and videographic evidence, it is learnt. Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly MK Stalin, and dissident AIADMK leader O Panneerselvam have demanded that the trust vote be nullified.

Meanwhile, an FIR has been filed against Stalin, his party MLAs, MPs and cadres for holding a protest at the Marina beach against the alleged attack on him and his MLAs during the trust vote.

The police said an FIR had been filed against them for unlawful assembly and violation of public order. — PTI
