The Tax Department has claimed that  businessman Mahesh Shah, who was questioned overnight for disclosing Rs 13,860 crore unaccounted money, has so far not named any “black money holder”.

Around 10 pm on Saturday, Shah appeared before the media from where he was temporarily detained by the police and later handed over to the I-T sleuths. A spokesman for the I-T department said he was questioned for the entire night and was allowed to return home this morning under police protection. He had been summoned again to appear before the I-T officers on Monday.

Shah has been virtually kept under house arrest in his flat in Ahmedabad with the police keeping a close watch on his movements and on those who might come to meet him or try to contact him. His neighbours were also quizzed by the police if they knew any of his contacts and had also been instructed not to talk to the media.
