In a case similar to the Gurugram school killing, a Class 9 student was found murdered in a toilet of his Vadodara school on Friday afternoon.

The police suspect at least three to four persons, possibly students of the same school, were behind the murder of the 14-year-old student who lived with his aunt in Vadodara. His parents live in Anand.

The police said the body bore nearly a dozen knife wounds. A 15-inch blood-soaked knife was found near the body. “When some secondary standard students went to the washroom on the first floor, they found the boy lying in a pool of blood. They raised the alarm and our staff rushed to the washroom. We then called an ambulance and police,” said Surendra Singh, principal of Shree Bharati Vidyalaya in Baranpura area.

The boy had recently taken admission in school’s just-started academic year. Preliminary investigations suggested the murder could be the result of a fight between some students a couple of days ago.

“We have recovered a bag with knives, knuckles and chili powder. It seems the suspects had come well-prepared for the crime,” said the Vadodara DCP.
