Durga is OSD to minister

New Delhi: Making a special dispensation by relaxing the five-year rule for a central deputation, the government on Thursday appointed Durga Shakti Nagpal — the 2010 Uttar Pradesh cadre IAS officer who locked horns with the sand mining mafia in Noida — as an officer on special duty (OSD) to Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh.

Badaun case: Cop absconding
Lucknow: The Badaun police is preparing to attach the property of the absconding constable accused of adducting and raping a minor inside the police station, said police sources. Despite an intensive search operation the dismissed constable Veerpal Singh Yadav is still at large. His accomplice Avinash Yadav was nabbed in a joint operation of Bareilly and Badaun police on Monday. TNS

Naidu on ‘ghar wapsi’
Gandhinagar: Amid a raging row over 'ghar wapsi' programme of right wing Hindutva groups, Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu said religious conversions have been happening for over 200 years with the help of foreign money. 
"Conversions and re-conversions are happening for the last 200 years, much before formation of the Modi government. A lot of foreign money is being spent for conversion. It's an open secret to everybody," Venkaiah Naidu said. PTI
