Court rejects bail of NIMS University chairman Prof Tomar

RANCHI: A local court on Wednesday sent Prof B S Tomar, chairman of NIMS University of Jaipur, to jail in connection with an attempt to rape and molestation case.

A local court on Wednesday sent Prof B S Tomar, chairman of NIMS University of Jaipur, to jail in connection with an attempt to rape and molestation case.

The court ordered that doctors be made available to him in jail, rejecting Tomar's bail petition, the court said he was accused of serious charges.

Ranchi police had arrested Prof Tomar from Jaipur on Tuesday. A case of sexual harassment had been lodged against him at a police station here in 2015.

A student had alleged that Tomar called her at a private hotel in Ranchi where she was sexually assaulted.
