Congress demands BJP apology for terming PDP-NC-INC as ‘terror front’ organisations

JAIPUR: Alleging that it was a strangulation of democracy in J&K by misusing the Governor’s power to dissolve it, the Congress on Thursday demanded that the BJP should either tender an apology to the nation or prove it that PDP-NC-INC are ‘terror front’ organisations and conspired in Pakistan as said by its BJP state president in J&K.

Alleging that it was a strangulation of democracy in J&K by misusing the Governor’s power to dissolve it, the Congress on Thursday demanded that the BJP should either tender an apology to the nation or prove it that PDP-NC-INC are ‘terror front’ organisations and conspired in Pakistan as said by its BJP state president in J&K.

“After dissolution of the J&K Assembly last night by the Governor, the BJP leaders specially its state president made a very derogatory remark to the nation’s people that it was an alliance of terror front organisations and it was conspired in Pakistan,” Congress leader Manish Tewari told a press conference here.

As the new coalition of NC, PDP and INC decided to give a popular government again in J&K, the Governor’s power was misused on the hints of the prime minister and the PMO in a hurry last night,” he alleged.

“The Congress party wants the BJP to either prove it immediately or tender an apology to the people of the nation for terming the oldest political parties, including the Congress anti-terror. PDP was pro-national till it was with the BJP in the J&K Government, and suddenly it has become terror outfit? I challenged the BJP to show a single neta who has sacrificed his life to terror. I can count at least 500 such martyrs who gave their lives to save the nation from terror,” Tewari claimed.

“The nation would like to know why the J&K Assembly was not dissolved when the PDP withdrew its support to the BJP? The BJP failed in its attempt to do horse trading of MLAs of other political parties, and when it failed in its conspiracy, and it was exposed that the people of J&K do not want BJP and other MLAs do not want to join them,”
he asked.

“The Congress is not a spoiler like the BJP. Had it been the UPA government, and any other political party had come up for the peace of the very sensitive state, we would have welcomed and facilitated it,” he said.

Tewari also assailed BJP president Amit Shah’s statement in Jaipur yesterday where latter termed all other political parties as “They are cooperative of corrupt” asking who has given a license to the BJP to raise its finger against other political parties.

“The biggest corruption of the country since Independence was of demonetisation in which 124 crore people were cheated and duped. This was followed by GST which left people in lurch and joblessness,” he added.

“Can PM Modiji make a reply on Union Ariculture Ministry’s apprisal to the Finance Ministry’s committee that demonetization led to farmers’ hunger in the country. Farmers could not buy seeds, fertilizers, and they were on verge of hunger dilemma,” he jibed.

On the Rafale scam, he asked why the PM is not making a statement in public meetings on this deal benefiting a single business tycoon.
