CISF, NSG, NDRF get new chiefs

NEW DELHI: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved new Directors General (DGs) for the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), National Security Guard (NSG) and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), says a government release.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved new Directors General (DGs) for the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), National Security Guard (NSG) and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), says a government release.

The committee has cancelled the appointment of PC Thakur, an Indian Police Service officer of Gujarat cadre from 1979 batch, as the Director General of Fire Services, Civil Defence & Home Guards.

According to the release, OP Singh, a 1983-batch Indian Police Service officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre, currently working as the NDRF Director General, will be the next chief of the CISF.

Sudhir Pratap Singh, also a 1983-batch IPS officer from Rajasthan cadre, will head the NSG, in addition to his current assignment of Additional DG of the CRPF.

The Appointments Committee also approved RK Pachnanda, a West Bengal cadre IPS officer of 1983 batch, to head the NDRF. He would be moving from his current position as the Additional DG of CISF. — IANS
