CBSE declares Class 10 result, over 1.68 lakh students score 10 CGPA

NEW DELHI: A whopping 1,68,541 students across the country — 85,316 boys and 83,225 girls scored a perfect 10 Cumulative Grade Point Average or CGPA score in the CBSE Class 10 exams, results of which were announced on Saturday.

A whopping 1,68,541 students across the country — 85,316 boys and 83,225 girls scored a perfect 10 Cumulative Grade Point Average or CGPA score in the CBSE Class 10 exams, results of which were announced on Saturday.

A total of 94,474 students scored a perfect 10 CGPA —49,392 were boys and 45,082 girls — last year.

Although the number of boys who have scored 10 CGPA is more, girls have done better in terms of pass percentage: a 96.36 per cent of the girls who took the exams passed against 96.11 per cent boys.

Pass percentage this year is 96.21 per cent, down from last year’s 97.32.

Thiruvanathpuram was ahead of other regions with a pass percentage of 99.87 followed by Chennai at 99.69 percent.

Differently-abled candidates recorded pass percentage of 95.18.

A total of 14,91,293 candidates were registered for Class 10 examinations: an increase of about 8.5 per cent candidates over last year.

Category wise, the Central Government’s Jawahar Navodyaya Vidyalayas has a pass percentage of 98.87 followed by Kendriya Vidyalayas at 98.85 per cent.

Independent schools had 1,51,061 students scoring a perfect 10 CGPA, while KVs and JNVs had 12,719 and 3,209, respectively.

Government schools however only had 1,242 students with the perfect 10, while government-aided schools only had 307.
