CBSE Class X result declared

NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Thursday declared the results of Class X Board examinations with the overall pass percentage of 97.32, a decline from the 2014 percentage of 98.87.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Thursday declared the results of Class X Board examinations with the overall pass percentage of 97.32, a decline from the 2014 percentage of 98.87.

Girls outperformed boys in the results declared scoring a pass percentage of 97.82 as against 96.98, which the boys scored. As many as 13,67,412 students had registered for the exams this year, of which 13,65,488 appeared.

Preliminary data released by the Board shows that the Thiruvananthapuram region of CBSE scored the best pass percentage of 99.97, much above the overall all India average.

Guwahati region is the lowest scoring with 86.55 per cent pass and Delhi is the second lowest at 96.29 per cent. Panchkula region pass percentage at 97.97 is third from the bottom.

Chennai is the second highest scorer after Thiruvananthapuram with 99.03 per cent pass percentage.

The Board said there was 3.37 per cent increase in the number of Class X applicants this year. Last year 13,73,853 had taken the test.

Boys scored better grade points than girls. Maximum students—94,474—pass with grade point average of 10, among them 49,392 boys, 45,082 girls.
