Cabinet Secretary Sinha gets one-year extension

New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of Cabinet on Monday approved Cabinet Secretary Pradeep Kumar Sinha’s extension by one year, till mid-June next year, an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) said.

New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of Cabinet on Monday approved Cabinet Secretary Pradeep Kumar Sinha’s extension by one year, till mid-June next year, an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) said. The committee is headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Sinha, 61, was appointed to the top post for a fixed two-year term in May 2015. He took over the new assignment from June 13. He earlier served as Power Secretary. Sinha, a 1977-batch IAS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre, had succeeded Ajit Seth who held the position for four years. PTI
