New Delhi: To increase awareness about its space programmes, the ISRO is conducting an online quiz for school students and the top scorers will get to watch the Chandrayaan-2 landing with PM Narendra Modi at the agency's Bengaluru headquarters. The Human Resource Development (HRD) Ministry has written to the CBSE as well as states to encourage students to participate in the quiz. Chandrayaan-2, which was launched on July 22, will land on the moon on September 7. PTI 

Over the moon

One of the fresh pictures of the lunar surface captured by Chandrayaan-2, which is currently orbiting the Moon, shows several craters. Releasing the pictures, the ISRO said the photos captured by the lunar spacecraft are those of craters Somerfeld, Kirkwood, Jackson, Mach, Korolev, Mitra, Plaskett, Rozhdestvenskiy and Hermite. AFP

Don’t carry MacBook Pro on flights: DGCA

New Delhi: Aviation regulator DGCA on Monday said passengers should not carry models of 15-inch MacBook Pro laptops that Apple deemed a safety risk due to overheating batteries. Apple had on June 20 issued a notice on its website regarding the risk posed by the models of the MacBook Pro laptops. “Apple has determined that, in a limited number of older generation 15-inch MacBook Pro units, the battery may overheat and pose a fire safety risk,” it added.
