Software for level-playing field in CBSE exams

New Delhi: The CBSE has started using the Theory Evaluation Trend Analysis (TETRA) software, written by its own team, to study the trend of marks being obtained by students and ensure a level-playing field for them.

The software displays live trend of average marks scored across centres and can be used for moderation of marks in case of ambiguity or difficulty in question paper, said a CBSE official. IANS

Tiger spotted in Gujarat after three decades

Ahmedabad: The Gujarat Government has confirmed the presence of a tiger in the state, days after a man claimed he saw the big cat crossing a road in Mahisagar district. State forest minister Ganpatsinh Vasava said the carnivore was caught on cameras set up by the forest department in that area. “It has now been confirmed. A tiger in the age-group of 7 to 8 years has been seen in Mahisagar district,” Vasava said. The striped animal was last seen in Gujarat in 1989. OC

Sydney: A team of student from Faridabad-based Manav Rachna Institute of Research and Studies on Tuesday won the Microsoft Imagine Cup Asia Regional Semifinals, moving one step closer to winning the grand prize of $100,000 at the world championship in the US. The team of Aakash Bhadana, Vasu Kaushik and Bharat Sundal developed “Caeli” (“air” in Latin), an automated anti-pollution and drug delivery mask designed for chronic respiratory patients. IANS
