The political arena is gearing up for the Assembly polls and 2019 General Election. And the BJP appears to have struck upon an idea key to core ideology to set the ball rolling.

While speculation is on about the event for some time now, party MP from Delhi Mahesh Girri today formally announced the eight-day “mahayagya” being planned at the Red Fort grounds between March 18 and 25. “The ‘rashtra raksha mahayagya’ will be the largest cultural and spiritual “sanskritik mahotsav” India has ever witnessed,” Girri said.

“Mahayagya” is an endeavour to invoke devotion for the nation and bring a heightened sense of pride of being an Indian through our age-old tradition of yagya, a spiritual method to be one with the cause, he added.

Noted art director Nitin Chandrakant Desai will design the vedic village where yagya will be performed with ghee sourced from households from across the country. To propagate participation a “Ghee Rath Yatra” will be conducted to collect the “Ek Chamach Ghee” for offering oblations in “yagna kunds” made from soil procured from all parts of the country, including border areas such as Doklam and Poonch, and water of all the holy rivers of the country.

It would be followed by “Devi Rath Yatra” and a “devi aagman”, marking the entry of the deity’s statue to New Delhi where “mahayagya” will be performed.
