11 ex-MPs put on trial in cash-for-query case

New Delhi: A Delhi court on Thursday framed graft and criminal conspiracy charges against 11 former parliamentarians in the infamous 2005 cash-for-query scam.

New Delhi: A Delhi court on Thursday framed graft and criminal conspiracy charges against 11 former parliamentarians in the infamous 2005 cash-for-query scam. Special Judge Kiran Bansal put the 11 former MPs and an individual on trial, which will commence from January 12. The accused are YG Mahajan, Chhatarpal Singh Lodha, Anna Saheb MK Patil, Chandra Pratap Singh, Pradeep Gandhi and Suresh Chandel (all BJP); Narender Kumar Kushwaha, Lal Chandra Kol and Raja Rampal (all BSP); Manoj Kumar (RJD), and Ram Sewak Singh (Congress). A sting operation against the then MPs was conducted on Dec 12, 2005. PTI
