Bihar’s ruling Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) today served a show-cause notice to its Araria Lok Sabha MP Mohammad Taslimuddin for making “irresponsible statements” against Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
Asking Taslimuddin to clear his stand within seven days, the RJD notice states: “Whatever statement you deliver is against the principles of Bihar’s ruling Grand Alliance. It appeared from your statements that you speak language either of the RSS or of the BJP which are against the party’s secular values. Despite being the RJD MP, you praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”
Besides Araria MP, former Union Minister and senior RJD leader Raghuvansh Prasad Singh has also been very critical of Kumar over deteriorating law and order across the state. RJD state chief Ramchandra Purve, however, refused to say whether the party would be taking action against Raghuvansh Prasad Singh.
“We had requested RJD chief Lalu Prasad to take action against the Araria MP and former Union Minister, who occasionally criticise and deliver irresponsible statements against the Grand Alliance government in Bihar. We have asked the RJD chief to either suspend them from the party or ask them to mend their ways,” said JD-U spokesperson Sanjay Kumar Singh.
