Lucknow, February 9

A day after the Supreme Court asked BSP chief Mayawati to reimburse the public money spent on her statues, she on Saturday asked the media not to “distort” the observation of the court. The final hearing in the case against the former UP chief minister is on April 2.

In a tweet, the BSP supremo said, “Sure to get justice in this matter also. Media and BJP leaders please stop kite-flying.”

Mayawati said marvellous memorials and parks built to honour “ignored” gurus and sants born in Dalit and OBC communities were a new grand identity and tourist attractions in the state which would give regular income to the government.

She said the party’s viewpoint would be placed in the court. — TNS
