‘Run all Night 3D is a thriller about Jimmy ‘The Gravedigger’ Condon (Liam Neeson) trying to rid himself of his forgettable past when he dealt with the sale of Albanian heroin in league with his boss and friend Shawn Maguire (Ed Harris). This past keeps Jimmy away from his son Michael (Joel Kinneman), who keeps his wife and girls away from his dad.

But when Shawn Maguire rejects his son Danny’s (Boyd Hallbrook) offer to get into partnership with heroin smugglers, he puts his life on the line. The heroin gang is out for his head. What follows is a taut, suspenseful 114 minutes of drama aided and abetted by dazzling camera (zoom and reverse zoom by Martin Role) and slick editing, and competent performances by Liam Neeson and Ed Harris. The two father-son combinations are indeed rare but they look more like brothers, a fact overlooked by director Collete-Sera, who otherwise does a fine job, as the action moves on more than one front. It is a very human drama with emotions running high, but sandwiched by action that keeps the viewer engrossed right through.
