Woman killed in mishap

LUDHIANA: The police have booked an unidentified car driver for mowing down a woman who was returning home, along with her husband.

The police have booked an unidentified car driver for mowing down a woman who was returning home, along with her husband.

The victim was identified as Kusum Lata. Her husband Raj Kumar, an interlock worker, said he, along with his wife, was on their way home when the car hit their cycle near Jodhewal Basti Chowk.

Kusum fell off the cycle. She was rushed to hospital where she died during treatment. A case under Section 304- A of the IPC has been registered.

Man booked for theft

Employee of a jewellery store was booked after he was caught stealing ornaments on a CCTV camera. Owner of the store Gautam Jain told the police that the accused had stolen a necklace and earrings.

The employee has been identified as Rajinder Kumar, alias Rajan, a resident to Radha Swami Satsang Road. A case has been registered.
