Ludhiana: A 22-year-old woman went missing under mysterious circumstances. Complainant Munish Kumar, a resident of Foji Colony, told the police that on July 13, he had gone to work and when he returned home in the evening, his wife Meenakshi Kumari was not there. He suspected that some unidentified persons could have kept her under illegal confinement. The police have launched a manhunt.

Minor’s kidnapping: Man held 

The division no. 4 police have arrested a man on the charge of kidnapping a 17-year-old minor girl. The accused has been identified as Vishnu, alias Karan, a resident of Hira Nagar. Complainant Kiran Devi of Shivpuri told the police that on July 13, the accused, who was working in a factory with her daughter, took her along on the pretext of marrying her. Later, he was arrested by the police and the girl was also traced.

Four held with drugs

The city police have arrested four drug peddlers and recovered drugs from them in separate cases. In the first case, the police arrested two peddlers namely Vinay Kumar, a resident of Prem Vihar, and Murad Ali, a resident of Gagandeep Colony. The police recovered 4-gram heroin from them. In the second case, the police arrested a drug peddler namely Hardeep Singh of Arjan Dev Nagar with 2-gram heroin. In another case, the police arrested one Kamalpreet Singh, a resident of Iyali Kalan and recovered 4-gram heroin from him. Further probe was on. TNS
