Victim dares auto gang, forces them to flee

A city youth, Ravi Kumar of New Anandpuri Colony, Kali Sarak, outwitted three members of a three-wheeler gang who had to flee leaving their vehicle behind.

Ravi told the police that he, along with Lakhwinder Singh, boarded a three-wheeler (PB-10EY-(T)3549) from Chhawni Mohalla to Karabara Chowk on Sunday. On the way near Gandhi Market (Chand Cinema), the three-wheeler driver said he would not be going beyond that point and told us to get down.

Ravi said when he checked his pocket, he found Rs 8,700 missing. “Then I realised that two other persons, who were also riding the three-wheeler, were accomplices of the driver. Both me and Lakhwinder chased the three-wheeler and accosted the occupants. We raised the alarm but the trio managed to flee the scene leaving the vehicle behind,” said the complainant.
