Two trains cancelled, four rescheduled

Rail traffic in several parts of the country has been adversely affected due to heavy rains and floods with railway tracks and installations having been submerged at several places. Due to operational constraints, the Railways announced cancellation of two trains, four were rescheduled for late departure, two were diverted via alternative routes while some other trains were delayed.

Railway officials said 14609 Rishikesh-Shri Mata Vasihno Devi Katra Hemkunt Express and 19612 Amritsar-Ajmer Express were cancelled for the day. Four trains, 12054 Amritsar-Haridwar Janshatabdi Express (1.05 hrs), 14610 Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-Rishikesh Hemkunt Express (2.10 hrs), 14618 Amritsar-Banmankhi Jansewa Express (1.05 hrs) and 22446 Amritsar-Kanpur Superfast Express (2.10 hrs) were rescheduled.

The Jabalpur-Attari Special Exp was diverted between Jabalpur and Katni Murwara while Ferozepur-Dhanbad Ganga Sutlej Exp was diverted via an alternative route between Ferozepur and Ludhiana. —OC

(0.50 hrs), Nangar Dam-Amritsar (0.50 hrs) and Banmankhi-Amritsar Jansewa Express (0.50 hrs).
