Two mobile snatchers nabbed, 9 stolen phones recovered

LUDHIANA: The police today claimed to have arrested two snatchers and recovered nine stolen mobile phones, one stolen motorcycle and one sharp weapon from them.

The police today claimed to have arrested two snatchers and recovered nine stolen mobile phones, one stolen motorcycle and one sharp weapon from them. They have been identified as Krishan Sood, alias Krishan, of New Sundar Nagar in Mundian Kalan area; and Shivam, alias Sibu, of Kunal Colony in Mundian Kalan area.

The suspects were arrested by a team of the Focal Point police station following a tip-off. Sub-inspector Balaur Singh said the suspects were arrested in the Jiwan Nagar area. “The suspects had snatched a mobile phone from Rahul Sharma while he was returning to his house after finishing work at a factory in the Focal Point area last week. Rahul spotted the suspects today and immediately informed the police. We carried out a raid and nabbed both of them,” said Balaur Singh.

According to the police, the suspects were involved in many cases of snatching. “During preliminary questioning, they confessed to their involvement in more than six incidents of snatching. They told the police that they snatched mobile phones from innocent people in the industrial area. They mostly targeted migrant workers,” said the SI.
