Ludhiana, October 23

Two youth allegedly kidnapped a nine-year-old girl and sexually exploited her. The suspects have been identified as Ranjit Kumar Jha and Nitish Jha, both residents of Bihar.

Complainant, a resident of Kailash Nagar, stated that on October 21, he along with his nine-year-old daughter had gone to Mangat Colony to deliver stitching material to some customers.

“It was around 8 pm when I asked my daughter to stay near the motorcycle and went inside the house to deliver goods. When I came out, I was shocked to see that my daughter was not there. I then immediately raised an alarm and enquired from some of my relatives, but she could be traced. I then informed the police,” said victim’s father.

Later, someone told him that his daughter was kidnapped by two persons, who took her to their rented accommodation at Mangat Colony. When the complainant went to their house, he was shocked to see Ranjit sexually exploiting his daughter in the room while Nitish was standing outside. On seeing complainant, the suspects fled from the spot.

Investigation officer, Jodhewal police station, ASI Nirwail Singh, said after verifying allegations, a case under Sections 354, IPC, 8 and 10 of the POCSO Act, was registered by the police and the suspects were arrested.
